FW5 Compatible Products (Legacy)
- DP5 units as shipped from the factory prior to November 15, 2011 have FW5. The user can upload FW6 into the unit. Amptek highly recommends updating to FW6.
- X-123 units with a DP5 inside as shipped from the factory prior to November 15, 2011 have FW5. The user can upload FW6 into the unit. Amptek highly recommends updating to FW6.
Notes:
- FW5 products must use the ADMCA display and acquisition software and the DPP API for custom applications.
- FW5 products can use an “automatic installation” of the USB drivers through Windows Update for the most common operating systems (32 bit XP and both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7). Other operating systems require a manual installation of the USB drivers. Installation through Windows update is strongly recommended if applicable.

It contains an example in VB of how to directly control the devices using the most low-level calls available. This should only be used by experts who need to adapt these devices to non-windows platforms.
